Enjoy an evening of your favorite Christmas Music as the Desert Wind Saxophone Quartet presents their 10th Annual Christmas Concert at Dove of the Desert United Methodist Church Saturday, December 16, at 7:00 PM. This annual concert has a history of assisting the Dove Missions Committee in collecting items they need for area families and charity organizations. This year they are collecting non-perishable food items that will be donated to St. Mary’s West Side Food Bank Alliance. Highlights of the evening will include music by Leroy Anderson, Sleigh Ride, Mel Torme, The Christmas Song and a special traditional presentation of Clement Moore’s poem ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas. This year we are sharing it with the Dove Youth Fellowship Music Ministry at Dove of the Desert to help raise funds for the newly formed DYF (Dove Youth Fellowship) Concert Band. January 15, 2005, Saturday, 5:00 - 10:00 PM Glendale Glitter and Glow, Downtown Glendale, Arizona. We'll be in front of the Visitor Center just north of the main downtown square. This is the final evening for the City of Glendale Glitters. There will be plenty of food and entertainment in the streets of downtown Glendale, as well as plenty of hot-air balloons in the streets to light up the night. Come for a wonderful evening of lights, balloons, food and music. We'll be at the visitors center just off the square for this, the final evening of Glendale Glitters. The Showcase is a good event to see downtown Prescott and get into the Christmas spirit. This is the 15th year for the Acker Musical Showcase. The Desert Wind Saxophone Quartet will be presenting its final concert of the season at Dove of the Desert United Methodist Church on Sunday, May 11, at 3:00PM, Mother’s Day. The concert will include music by Astor Piazzolla (Michelangelo 70, Adios Nonino, Pulsacion 2), Calvin Hampton (Bach’s Fireworks Music), Stephen Rush (Seventh Heaven Rag), George Gershwin (Fascinating Rhythm), and music by other noteworthy composers. Also on the concert will be audience, and quartet favorites. It promises to be an exciting and energetic afternoon of music. As always, Mom’s get free admission, as well as students, we are asking Dad for a small donation of $10.00, $8.00 for senior Dads.
